Frimley Green Gardens
The National Garden Scheme are introducing selected opening for private visits and RGC were able to take advantage of this to visit 4 gardens in Frimley Green.
We were met by the owner of the first garden and area organiser who accompanied us through his fabulous garden, packed with flowering shrubs. The grass path meandered down the long thin plot but the abundant planting disguised the destination, drawing one on.
The second garden was totally different, a small urban space, designed with flair and plants sculpted to suit the owners purpose. Her large area of hostas was enviably free from slug damage and she let us into her secret – you should have been there!
The next garden had won an award for the wildlife that it attracted. Although not huge it was a haven for insects, birds, reptiles and small mammals. Here we were grateful for the chance to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and cake before moving on to the final garden where we were able to buy plants and many of us did.
