Twenty five of us choose a lovely sunny day for our first garden visit of this summer and what a house and garden it was!
The garden was just coming into its own and will probably be at its glorious best in July when all of the herbaceous and annual plants will be in full bloom. However it did enable us to see very clearly ,on our guided tour with the Head Gardener, how the planting reflects the very clear views of the family who have lived at Parham for decades- from colour coordinated flowers grown so that they reflect the colour schemes of each room in the house to maintaining the families picnic spot!
The house was an added bonus and we all enjoyed the beautiful embroideries which were on display in every room.
Those of us who were inclined explored the grounds further and walked to the church which had gated pews and an especially large one for the family ,complete with its very own fireplace!
Together with the small cafe, shop and plant sales this made it an ideal way to spend a summers afternoon
