Roughly 20 members met in Central Car Park on a rather dull and misty Sunday morning. Bang on time Brian (Greig) met us and we began the walk with an introductory talk. Brian said he had “cribbed” the walk from one of the Tree Walks published by the town council and available in pamphlet form from the town hall.
The walk proper started in Gostree meadow, progressed via the Maltings bridge into St. Andrew’s Church grave yard, then onto the Hart, Castle Street and back via Borelli yard.
During the walk we paused at the many trees of interest with Brian identified and gave us his own very personal assessment of the tree in question as well as answering numerous questions.
All in all on a dull Sunday morning this was a excellent way to enjoy it as well as having our eyes open the number and variety of trees in the town.
